This is the story of a farm boy named Eragon who finds a blue stone in a mountain place. From this stone (which we find out is an egg) a dragon hatches who he names Saphira. An evil king by the name Galbatorix learns about Eragon and his dragon and wants to capture them. Both Eragon and Saphira must flee their hometown in search for Varden who will help them stop Galbatorix.

A movie was released in 2006 based on the first book.
